Debi Pagee

Director

Debi attended Grant MacEwan before starting with North Edmonton Family Day Home Agency in 1983. She is familiar with all aspects of family childcare having been a Educator, Consultant, Parent of a child in care and Director since 1998. She is a strong advocate for children and families and has served on many committees including Chair of the Alberta Family Child Care Association, Grant MacEwan Advisory Committee, and most recently Board Member for the Alberta Resource Centre for Quality Enhancement.

Melissa MacDormand

Supervisor

Melissa is a graduate of the Grant MacEwan, Early Child Development program and a Level III. After graduation she went on to work in Day Care for over two years. During that time, she gained a lot of wonderful hands-on experience. She has been with North Edmonton Family Day Home Agency since 2000 on a part time basis and joined the agency fulltime in 2008.

Jessica Alberda

Office Administrator

Jessica Alberda has been working at NEFDHA since 2012, as an Office Administrator and focuses on providing supports to the educators. She has a background in Fitness and Nutrition graduating From NAIT and SAIT. Jessica was a Personal Trainer for 12 years and ran her own business for 6 years. She applies this experience to her work at the office in planning the Activity Calendars, Prop Boxes and changing of the Parent & educator Resource Centre. Jessica has a young son and loves incorporating what she learns at work into his routine.

Leslie Hernandez

Office Administrator

Leslie comes from a family deeply rooted in academic success, which has instilled in her a strong passion for personal and professional growth. She is driven by a commitment to community support and business development, which led her to join North Edmonton Family Day Home Agency.

With over 15 years of experience in finance, Leslie has worked with organizations such as TD Canada Trust, Phoenix Accounting, RBC, and Recruitment Partners. She brings this extensive expertise to her role, focusing on helping the agency thrive and supporting its mission to serve families and educators.

As a proud finance professional, Leslie sees every day as an opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in her field. She is excited to continue contributing her skills and passion to the agency and the communities it serves.

Rachel Batchelor

Office Administrator

Rachel joined North Edmonton Family Day Home Agency as an educator in December 2009 and enjoyed running her day home for 13 and a half years. In May 2023, she transitioned to an office position as an Office Administrator.

Rachel brings a wealth of experience to the office, along with strong computer skills, organizational expertise, and her positive, bubbly personality—something many educators may recognize when they call in! She is excited to continue supporting educators and families in this new capacity.

Wendy Park

Office Administrator

Wendy joined North Edmonton Family Day Home Agency in January 2024, transitioning from her role in a large daycare center to Office Administrator. She brings over 20 years of experience in the childcare field, ranging from hands-on work with children to managing a large daycare.

Wendy holds an Early Childhood Diploma as well as an Office Administration Certificate, combining her passion for childcare with her organizational expertise. She is excited to be part of a team dedicated to providing quality care to children and their families. Wendy looks forward to connecting with educators and providing them with the support they need when they call the agency.

Ala Igras

Day Home Consultant

Ala taught elementary school in Poland. Since coming to Canada, she has worked in childcare for 16 years and taught art and Polish language at a Polish Saturday School. Ala joined our agency in 2010. She loves the natural curiosity of children and that they are always ready to explore their world with joy and enthusiasm. She enjoys sharing her ideas with educators and supporting their personal growth.

Bethany Perry

Day Home Consultant

Bethany was born in Drumheller, AB, and has lived in five Canadian cities before settling in Edmonton, where she has lived for the past 30 years. Her passion for working with young children began early and led her to pursue Early Childhood Education. In 2000, she graduated with a Level III Diploma and began her career in daycare, working with teen moms at the Terra Centre and later at Canada Place Daycare.

Bethany has a diverse background in childcare, having run her own day home for five years and worked in a playschool classroom. Her dedication to supporting families extends to her role as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, a path she began in 2008.

Bethany joined North Edmonton Family Day Home Agency as a Day Home Consultant, where she enjoys sharing her passion and commitment with children, their families, educators, and her colleagues.

Janine Macialek

Day Home Consultant

Janine started out as a day home educator. As her children grew older, she chose to work at the schools as an Educational Assistant. For over 8 years she worked with students with special needs, specializing in autism as well as behavioral disorders. Janine has re-joined the agency this time as a day home consultant. She enjoys participating in activities with the children during her home visits in addition to supporting the day home educators.

Liliana Bravo

Day Home Consultant

Liliana was a kindergarten and grade 1 teacher in Mexico City for 25 years, she also worked with different special needs groups for 2 years. Since she came to Canada, she worked in Daycare centers for 3 years, after that, she became a day home Educator for 12 years with North Edmonton Family Day Home Agency. After those years, she decided to get a new professional change as a day home consultant sharing her experiences with educators and supporting their personal growth.

Lisa Pagliaroli

Day Home Consultant

Lisa has worked in the childcare field for over 25 years. She was a family day home educator with NEFDHA for almost 8 years before joining the agency as a day home consultant in 2013. Lisa is a graduate of the Grant MacEwan Early Childhood Development program. Lisa enjoys interacting with educators and the children in their homes.

Mitzi Gerber

Day Home Consultant

Mitzi joined NEFDHA in the fall of 2012. She has worked in the family day homes for the past 28 years; 21 years as a family day home educator and then as a consultant. Mitzi is working towards an early learning and childcare certificate with GPRC. She enjoys interacting with the children during her visits and supporting educators with a variety of resources for program planning.
